Studio Art

A course for students who have
taken all or most art classes and are serious about art and/or pursuing a career in art or design. Students should see Mrs. Driscoll and/or their guidance
counselor about applying.

Studio Art provides students with the opportunity to explore career and college opportunities in or related to the visual arts while further developing a cohesive body of artwork to submit for Advanced Placement (AP). Students will be expected to set high goals for themselves as they decide the concepts, media, and execution of each art piece while developing a
professional art portfolio. The course is intended to provide extra guidance to students serious about visual art by creating small class sizes which optimize individual instruction and feedback. In order to gain acceptance into the class, each student must submit an application which must be
approved by the instructor. A professional portfolio is required at the end of the year.
